Cofisem tracks the new CAC PME index that was launched on March 5th by Euronext. ”This unique index is the first in Euronext’s new PEA PME index family, based on the French government’s initiative aimed at encouraging investment in shares and support for financing of SMEs.” indicates the official press release. This new index tracks the performance of 40 French companies eligible as investment vehicles for PEA PME accounts namely, they employ 5,000 people or less, achieve less than EUR 1.5 billion in revenue (or less than 2 billion euros in terms of total assets). Those companies, which come from a very wide range of sectors, are made up of a limited number of shares selected from the most liquid on Euronext and Alternext markets in Paris.
